Premium Tutorial: Webbed Fingers for Fursuits

This tutorial will show you a cool advanced sewing technique to make webbed fingers for costume projects and fursuit parts. It can also be scaled up for fins, wings, or other features on a costume where a “web” or “membrane” of skin is needed to span from one side to another.

Sewing webbing between fingers can add an extra level of detail to match a creature costume’s species better! For example if you are making a costume of a monster critter, otter, water bird, aquatic animal, dragon, other fantasy creatures, and so on! This guide teaches you two ways to install webbing between fingers (and a free simple handpaw pattern to start you out is included), but the rest is up to you!

Since this is a fairly involved technique I would consider it as "advanced," so it is recommended for those who have sewn a few projects and may not be suitable for a first-time project. However, practice makes perfect so do some testing on scraps to see which version of the technique you like best! • Handpaw fabric or faux fur

• Webbing fabric (2-way or 4-way stretch)
